Ali Slaight

Ali Slaight is the Talent Development Coordinator at Slaight Music, working on the A&R side of the business. Graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Music, Slaight started off as an Artist in the industry with several compilation features, including two tracks on the 2006 album Pink Floyd Redux, "Learning To Fly" and "Hey You," and a version of Etta James' "At Last" on Real Divas -- Torch Light Volume 2. In October 2008, working with Simon Wilcox and Justin Gray, she released the EP "The Story of Your Life" on Universal Music Canada. The title song ended up serving as the soundtrack to CBC Television's Canadian Olympic highlight recap. In 2009, Ali got together with Theo Tams to record a version of the holiday classic "Do You Hear What I Hear?" in support of War Child Canada. Even though that partnership was meant to be a one-time duet, it has turned into a yearly tradition for Ali & Theo - their album 'Holiday Collection' was released this past December containing all of their favourite duets recorded over the last 9 years.
Although Slaight enjoys her time in the studio, she feels most comfortable on the business side of the industry. Developing the careers of Canadian musicians and bands to help put their music in front of as many people as possible is what she, and her colleagues, are most passionate about.
