The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) was founded in 1976. Each year, the CCMA honours its members who have excelled during the past year, with a Canadian Country Music Award. The Awards are handed out each fall during Country Music Week. The Slaight Music Humanitarian Award recognizes a person(s) and\/or event(s) that have made an outstanding contribution of time and energy in the support of humanitarian causes through country music in Canada.
