Antidiva: The Carole Pope Confessions opens the 2026 Hot Docs Festival
Antidiva: The Carole Pope Confessions (dir. Michelle Mama) was the opening film of the 2026 Hot Docs Festival, premiering at the Bloor Cinema in Toronto on April 23rd . Supported by the Hot Docs–Slaight Family Fund, the film traces the career arc of the Rough Trade frontwoman and her late bandmate Kevan Staples, from their beginnings in the queer underground in the 1970s through their 80s radio heyday, to Carole's latest project, Rough Trade The Musical. Look for the film on CBC Gem starting on July 24th. More on the event from NOW's Karen Bliss here.
